No cuts and an extra £2.5bn to help our children in school

Before the General Election Labour were planning to make cuts across a whole range of services. But Liberal Democrats in Government have protected school budgets from cuts.

And we are ALSO giving an extra £2.5 billion to schools taking on children from the poorest background to ensure a fair start for all – the pupil premium.

“We all know Labour were planning to slash services if they won the General Election,” said Scott Collins. “One of the Liberal Democrats’ top manifesto pledges was to ensure all children have a fair start in life.

“We have kept our promise by protecting school budgets from cuts and ensuring extra support is available for children who need it.”

“Its a shame that Labour cannot be honest about what there intentions were. Seemingly they have short memories as Mr Milliband seems not to have any recollection of the Labour partys plans pre or post election, preferring to say “we wouldn’t have done that…” without ever offering a comprehensible alternative.”
