A top Liberal Democrat election pledge to make the banks pay towards the mess they created has been put into action.

The Bank Levy was a key Liberal Democrat demand during the negotiations that led to the formation of the Coalition.

“The Levy will raise £10 billion over the next four years,” said Scott Collins, Parliamentary Spokesman for South Northants.

“That money will help us lower the tax burden on ordinary people and invest in growth to create jobs.”
